Is the Devils Lacrosse Club a travel or recreational lacrosse club? The club is a travel program for both boys and girls teams. Our teams play other travel programs in central and northern New Jersey (out of town teams). The club also enters jamboree and championship format tournaments.
What season is lacrosse played? Lacrosse is a spring sport.
How are the teams divided? By age group and in some cases by experience and ability.
How much does the program cost? K-2 $110, Boys 3-8 $260, Girls 3-8 $220 additionally all players must register with US Lacrosse for $30.
When is registration? Registration will begin online on November 1st and end on February 1st.
How does our family register? Go to the website and locate the Register Online tab to the left. (The tab will not be available before November 1st.) Online registration requires that you pay by credit card. You will then receive an email confirming your registration from the website.
What is the deadline for registration? January 1.
When does lacrosse start? Equipment hand out will be in late February and practice begins for boys and girls grades 3-8 in March (see home page for dates)
Typically where do we practice? JP Case Middle School, Copper Hill Elementary School or Reading Fleming Intermediate School. Practice schedules will be posted online. Any changes to the schedule are posted online as well.
Where are away games? All different locations in New Jersey. Directions to all fields will be available on this website.
How do parents keep abreast of what's going on? Check the website: devilslacrosseclub.com. Ask your child's coach.
What does my registration fee go towards? We determine the registration fee by adding up all our costs and looking at the number of participants. The fee covers referees and officials, team equipment (goalie equipment, goals, nets, cones, balls etc.), medical kits, insurance for all coaches, membership to U.S. Lacrosse for all coaches, and tournament fees.
What is U.S. Lacrosse? The national governing body of men's and women's lacrosse. All players will become members of U.S. Lacrosse upon registering for the DLC programs. Their website is http://www.uslacrosse.org.
Why am I required to have a U.S. Lacrosse membership? All players are required by U.S. Lacrosse, the governing body of men's and women's lacrosse, to have a membership. This is required for insurance purposes. Visit uslacrosse.org if you need your US Lacrosse membership number or to renew your membership.
What are the rules of Boys and Girls lacrosse? For specific rules and other information, go to the Boys and Girls Rules tabs on the left.
What is the uniform? Jerseys and shorts for boys, skorts/kilts and jerseys for girls, and practice pinneys for all participants.
